For over two decades Doug has worked with Canada's financial services industry to make it more competitive. Doug bring the lessons learned working with global financial institutions, large domestic banks, payments networks and technology providers to our payments and mid-market banking industries. Doug’s current project focus includes Payments Canada Modernization and digital transformation for banks, fintech disruptors, credit unions and payments providers. Doug’s client base spans global banks and payments networks to regional financial institutions in Canada, US and the UK. Prior to his current role, Doug served as a senior leader in Deloitte's strategy consulting and payments practices, and as a partner and credit union consulting leader at MNP, Canada's largest domestic professional services firm. Doug is a nationally-recognized thought leader. Recent research topics include mid-market competitiveness, credit union system structural change, fintech co-opetition and the impact of payments modernization and Open APIs on banking. Doug is an in-demand speaker and presenter at financial services industry events across Canada and is a media commentator on payments innovation. Doug served as a logistics officer in the Royal Canadian Navy's naval reserve, where he received the Canadian Forces Decoration for service. Doug earned his MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University, where he achieved the Dean's List. Doug's undergraduate studies were completed at Trinity College in the University of Toronto, where he graduated with distinction. Doug holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification. |
